Catalytic Hydrotreatment of Biomass-Derived Fast Pyrolysis Liquids Using Ni and Cu-Based PRICAT Catalysts

چکیده

Biomass-derived fast pyrolysis liquids (PLs) are not directly applicable as transportation fuels due to their high oxygen content and limited storage stability. Catalytic hydrotreatment is an efficient technology convert such PLs finished or intermediates that can be used a co-feed for existing oil refinery units. In this paper, we report catalyst screening studies the mild of using commercially available Ni Cu-based PRICAT catalysts at rather conditions (200 °C, initial 140 bar H2 pressure) in batch setup 4 h. Among all catalysts, NI 62/15 showed best performance catalytic terms product properties (highest H/C ratio lowest TG residue). The were also tested deep more severe (350 100 pressure). Here, better than benchmark Picula Ni-Mo when considering yield ratio. Advantageously, hydrogen consumption during reduced, rationalized by lower methanation activity.

Kinetics of biomass catalytic pyrolysis.

The Coats-Redfern method was used to analyze the kinetic characteristics of biomass catalytic pyrolysis, indicating that it can be described by multi-step reactions, rather than as a simple first-order reaction. Friedman model-free calculations were used to describe the starting reaction types and the corresponding initial kinetic parameters. Finally, nonlinear regression of biomass catalytic p...

Green gasoline by catalytic fast pyrolysis of solid biomass derived compounds.

Owing to its low cost and large availability, lignocellulosic biomass is being studied worldwide as a feedstock for renewable liquid biofuels. Lignocellulosic biomass is not currently used as a liquid fuel because economical processes for its conversion have not yet been developed. Currently, there are several routes being studied to convert solid biomass into a liquid fuel which involve multip...

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Tar Model Compound with Various Bio-Char Catalysts to Recycle Char from Biomass Pyrolysis

Tar and char can be regarded as unwanted byproducts during the gasification process. In this study, three types of catalyst, i.e., biomass char (bio-char), nickel supported on biomass (Ni+bio-char), and nickel supported on bio-char (bio-char+Ni), were studied to compare the catalytic effects of different preparation methods on tar model compound removal. The structural characteristics of the th...
